We’re looking for an Outreach Executive to join Team Trueblood! If you are a rockstar at podcast pitching and passionate about lifting up the voices of a growingly diverse group of female entrepreneurs, then you may very well be a perfect fit.
Hi!  I’m Angie, Founder of Angie Trueblood, LLC. Our podcast visibility agency is growing and we are searching for a new team member to support our clients by pitching and LANDING them interviews on super-relevant shows (pitching without actually landing interviews is really just sending emails, you know?). 
Position Overview
We’re looking for an Outreach Executive Subcontractor who has been successful at pitching clients for podcast interviews and LOVES puzzling together our clients’ expertise with the needs of hosts. You know that a pitch template is a great place to start but when the rubber meets the road, every pitch you send will be different from the next because every podcast host and their audience is different. You’ve got a strategic brain and stellar written communication skills and you know how to use them in the podcasting space. 
As an Outreach Executive for Team Trueblood, you’ll be working closely with Angie, our Executive Assistant Courtney, and our clients (this is a client-facing position).  
This role is an integral part in exceeding our clients’ expectations while maintaining and growing our reputation of excellence in the podcast pitching space. 
This is a subcontractor position whose workload will depend on the number of clients you’re willing to support (max of 4 clients/ month, sending 10-12 pitches/client). There is definitely room to grow and evolve in this position as we’re a rapidly growing company, with needs that are often uncovered as we scale. 
Duties include
  • Work with Angie to fully understand the strategic goals and to help develop the messaging and positioning for the clients you support. 
  • Take ownership of clients’ monthly outreach to include curating their pitch list (using our 500+ show database, a Podcast Clout subscription, and traditional searching methods), sending 10-12 pitches, and then transitioning the pitch to our Exec Asst. for follow-up and scheduling.
  • Communicate with clients, as needed, to gain clarity on the angles needed for particular shows. 
  • Ongoing communication with Angie regarding specific pitches and changes to our strategy.
  • Participate in monthly team meetings to brainstorm client pitching strategies.

ClickUp, Google Drive, G-suite email, Slack, Voxer, Apple Podcast

  • Target acceptance rate of pitches after the first follow-up: 30%
  • Client retention rate: 50%

  • You speak up if you recognize there might be a better way to do something (we’re in a growth phase, so there’s LOTS of opportunity to leave your mark).
  • Prefer using your skillset to support a growing business and working in an independent, entrepreneurial role rather than growing your own business. 
  • You know how to manage your time and work independently but also enjoy collaboration.
  • You’re not afraid to make mistakes. Angie is very skilled at allowing her teammates to take ownership of their roles, knowing that they have her full support and trust. That level of ownership comes with the inevitable mistake. The thought of that doesn’t paralyze you. 
  • Similarly, you’re comfortable with feedback. 

This position might not be your cup of tea if you:
  • Prefer a set task list, rather than a general objective. 
  • Are uncomfortable with a results-focused position. This is not a check the box role. 
  • Do not have a strong strategic messaging skillset. 
  • Are actively growing your own podcast pitching business (we’re looking for someone that will be with us for the long haul). 
  • Your schedule doesn’t allow you to meet weekly deadlines (ex: Send 3 pitches for Client A by the end of the week). 
  • You prefer to not interact with our clients.
